Our Core Programs

Healthy, quality food available for those who need a little help.

Food and energy insecurity go hand-in-hand. We can help.

We provide access to food where students need it.

Free adult and child diapers for families who need them.

Food and energy insecurity are issues that impact many of our neighbors in our Knox County community.

Feeding America estimates that 12.3% of Knox County residents (about 5,100 people) experience food insecurity and for children, the number is even higher at 18.1% (about 740 children).

AIO has made great strides this past year in reaching more of the county and closing the gap so that our neighbors have judgement-free access to the food they need. We want to remove the angst of food insecurity and ensure that no one has to choose between food on the table and adequate health care, or sufficient protection from the elements.

2025 & 2026 planning:

  • We have implemented a weekend meals program for the middle and high schools

  • We have expanded our home delivery service for those who experience mobility or transportation challenges

  • We are building our gluten free offerings at the Market

  • We now have 13 satellite self-serve units that serve 250 people / week. We are always looking for partners for new locations.
