What is Community Matters More?
Community Matters More is a program of The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation that directly engages the public in grant awards. Voters determine how to distribute grants to local nonprofit organizations in Maine and New Hampshire.
When does voting take place?
Voting will take place during the month of April, beginning Wednesday, April 1 and ending Thursday, April 30. Winners will be announced in June.
What grants will be awarded?
Voters will determine how to distribute over $155,000 in grants to nonprofits in Maine and New Hampshire. The nonprofits with the most votes in each geographical region will receive $5,000 grants, with runner-up grants awarded as listed below.
• First Place Grants: $5,000
• Runner-Up Grants: $3,500
• Runner-Up Grants: $3,500
• Write-In Grants: $2,500
