Fall has come and AIO is seeing an unprecedented number of households. Last week we hit 800 unduplicated market and home delivery visits. For the twelve months ending September of 2026, market visits are up +32.5% vs the previous year. You name the headline of the day and no doubt it is having a negative impact on the more vulnerable among our community. Not only are more people coming to AIO, but they are coming for more support. And thankfully AIO is here and able to step in and fill a gap. Helping people through the hard and uncertain times of $6/gallon fuel oil prices, no Maine Care insurance, reduced SNAP support, and higher priced grocery store food is what we hear about and help with all day long.
AIO has been lucky to receive strong support from the community, but that support isn’t a lock, which is why I’m reaching out….

This announcement launches our year-end appeal drive, which is our most critical fundraising appeal of the year, during which we hope to secure about one- third (1/3) of our annual budget. Our goal is to raise $800,000 by the end of the year, which will set us up for a strong start to 2027. Thanks to four generous businesses—Camden National Bank, Fisher Engineering, Rockport Steel, and Starlight Kitchen & Bath - we have a $20,000 Early Bird matching gift challenge to kick off this drive.
