Our Programs Run On Volunteers

  • In 2026, we’re working on catching all of our volunteers up signing forms and completing their Food Safety 101 Training (a requirement through Good Shepherd Food Bank). See below for forms.

Thank you for serving as a volunteer and helping us achieve our mission of respectfully and compassionately supporting those in need in Knox County with food and energy assistance.

As a mostly volunteer organization, we simply could not provide the services we do without you. You are the backbone of this operation!

REMINDER: Please make sure that you’ve completed the following. If you have any questions, contact Ari at ariel@aiofoodpantry.org, 339-674-1991 (call/text), or 207-596-1043 x101.

Complete the Good Shepherd Food Safety Videos

Good Shepherd Food Bank and its partner agencies are responsible for following standards of practice that ensure the safe and proper handling of donated food.

Agencies are responsible for ensuring that their program staff and volunteers are trained properly in personal hygiene and safe handling of food.

All together, the four online videos take about a half hour to watch. The assessment takes about 15 minutes to complete. Upon completion of the assessment, a certificate is emailed to the trainee and a copy is retained on file by GSFB.

Videos

Understanding the Importance of Food Safety and the Role We Play
Transporting and Receiving Product
Inspecting Products and Food Safety Recalls
How to Store Food Safely

After watching the videos, please take the 30 question test of food safety knowledge. (Partner Agency = Area Interfaith Outreach)

Training Assessment

Please remember to forward your certificate to Ari!
